Disable Hightlight Function: Protect Your Blog Content From Copy and Paste

To write a very constructive blog content is a very hard work, which some bloggers don't understand what it takes, all they are looking for is where to copy content for their blog, which is really a very bad act, especially when your copied content is ranking higher than your original content. I can remember when i first started blogging, it took me 10-15mins before i can actually figure out where to start my write-up, but seems to be getting easier as
time goes on.
Now the major trick you can use to protect your content from copy and paste bloggers is to disable highlight function. I also shared a tutorial on how to disable right click context menu on images, which you can also use it to protect your blog images.

How To Disable Highlight Function

  • Go to your dashboard
  • Click Template > Edit HTML > Proceed
  • Use ctrl F to find </head> and paste the following code above </head>

<script type='text/javascript'>
 if (typeof document.onselectstart!=&quot;undefined&quot;) {
 document.onselectstart=new Function (&quot;return false&quot;);
}
 else{
 document.onmousedown=new Function (&quot;return false&quot;);
 document.onmouseup=new Function (&quot;return true&quot;);
}
</script>

  • Now save your template.

Alternative

You can also add it, using this second option.
  • Go to Layout > Add a Gadget > HTML/JavaScript
  • Paste the following code in the content box leaving the title box empty.

<script language='JavaScript1.2'>
function disableselect(e){
return false
}
function reEnable(){
return true
}
document.onselectstart=new Function (&quot;return false&quot;)
if (window.sidebar){
document.onmousedown=disableselect
document.onclick=reEnable
}
</script>

  • Click on the Save button and you are done.
With this trick, your blog content is now safe from copy and paste bloggers.
Take few seconds to share it, if it help's a bit.

Heavy rain swamps parts of Peru and Bolivia

Parts of Peru and Bolivia are struggling to recover after torrential rain triggered floods and landslides.

In Peru, the southern regions of Arequipa and Ica were the worst hit.

In Arequipa province, 120mm of rain fell in just seven hours on February 8. This amount of rain could cause flooding in almost any part of the world, but is particularly treacherous in Arequipa which is usually very dry. This is the wetter season, but the average rain for the entire month is only 36mm.
Authorities report that nearly 50,000 people have been affected by the extreme rain, and six people are known to have died.
A state of emergency has been declared in the flood-ravaged area after homes and cars were swept away by the floodwaters and over 20km of road destroyed.
Many residents have been left with nothing as rivers burst their banks, and washed away all their possessions. The rain also left several areas of the southern Peruvian region without power and phone lines.

On February 11, Arequipa’s regional president, Juan Manuel Guillen, joined Peruvian Prime Minister Juan Jimenez, on a tour of flood-ravaged areas to see for themselves the extent of the damage.

According to local media, an estimated 55 tonnes of aid has been prepared for flood victims.
On Monday train services to the tourist destination of Machu Picchu were suspended due to flooding in the area. A spokesman for the operator, Ferrocarril Transandino, said the water had not damaged the railroad, and that the closure was only a preventive measure.
Crops ruined
Across the border in Bolivia, there has been a similar scene with flooding affecting many parts of the country, including the capital La Paz.
Crops have been destroyed and approximately 50 homes have been damaged after the Huayllani and Achumani river overflowed their banks.
Large sections in the south of La Paz have been covered in mud and debris, and bridges have been washed away by the force of the flood water. Even the heavy machinery used to sculpt river beds has been swept away from the Achumani river.
Some of the residents have been digging through the mud, to pull out furniture and other belongings, despite warnings that the buildings may completely collapse.

The heaviest rain fell on February 10 and 11, but the ground was already saturated after days of rain.
Farmer Eleuterio Mamani said the situation had been grim for some time,
"We have lost our crops. They have been taken away by the floods. We don't have anything to live on now. We are suffering here, working for weeks to protect ourselves from the floods," he said.
Official figures say the rains have caused 18 deaths since November, with 8,700 families being affected and approximately 6,000 hectares of crops damaged.
The wet season in Peru and Bolivia runs until the end of March, so the risk of more flooding continues for several more weeks.

Determines Car Insurance Premiums?

This is a very interesting question and one that is asked all too often. People often wonder which aspects factor into the ultimate premium they have to pay in order to have their car covered by an insurance policy. The answer to this question is certainly not a simple or straightforward one. There are various elements and factors that
come into play when determining the car insurancepremium you will end up paying.
No consumer pays the same amount for car insurance than another. There are different factors that determine the ultimate premium that every consumer needs to pay. Their personal circumstances, history and the type of car they drive all factor into this. Thus, it is impossible for anyone to have the same car insurance premium.
The different factors that go into determining the ultimate premium we pay include the following:
  • Age of the driver: The age of the driver will definitely come into play when determining the price of the car insurance premium. Drivers that are under the age of 25 automatically pay more for their insurance than those that are older and more mature. This is simply because of the statistics that prove that younger drivers are statistically more likely to be involved in accidents than older people.
  • The type of car that you drive: Naturally this factor will come into play. The type of car you drive, its replacement value and its market value will all factor into the ultimate premium you need to pay.
  • The neighbourhood you stay in: As with any type of home or car insurance, the type of neighbourhood that you live in will also impact on your premium. Some areas are more prone to vehicle crime such as breaking ins and theft and this increases the premium. If you lock your car in a garage during the evening or stay in a security complex, this all counts in your favour towards making the premium more affordable.
These are only some of the many types of factors that determine the ultimate car insurancepremium that we end up paying.
